Tuesday Tip #2
Don't Boil Your Herbal Teas
When making herbal teas, it's important that you don't boil your tea or pour boiling water over your teas. Boiling hot water removes the oils that give the tea its medicinal properties.

Oh really? And here I just finished boiling my raspberry leaves. -_-
ReplyDeleteHm... now that's interesting! What should you do instead?
ReplyDeleteGet your water hot and really steamy, but catch it right before it boils. (If the water does boil, let it sit for a few minutes before making your tea.) Pour the hot water over your leaves directly in your cup, and cover with a lid or small plate. Let it steep for at least 8-10 minutes before straining.
DeleteThanks! That makes sense!
